You can thank a road trip to Carrollton, the next time you enjoy a succulent chicken wing or a juicy hamburger from The Chicken Coop Food Truck.

Chicken Coop Owner Keith Taylor was inspired to start a food truck in 2016 when, during a drive back from Carrolton to scout another restaurant location, he spotted a food truck and decided to put his already successful restaurant formula on wheels.

The Chicken Coop can now be spied not only at events throughout Fayette County, but across the state from Canton to Columbus, Auburn to Gainesville, at music festivals in Macon and even weddings.

“We’ve probably done about 14 weddings,” he said. “We also do a lot of corporate stuff with Panasonic and Costco.”

While The Chicken Coop still carries the most popular items served at Taylor’s other two restaurants – Tyrone Wings and Things, Peachtree City Wings and Wings Express – it does have its specialties, like hamburgers, but the highest demand is always for, you guessed it, wings.

The truck stays busy throughout most of the year but takes some winter months off due to the weather. Then again sometimes the weather can’t stop folks who are craving the taste of wings.

“Oh, yeah, we had an event last year the weekend before Thanksgiving.”
The busy season is gearing up for The Chicken Coopand Taylor is anticipating on the truck serving four to six events a month.  When asked what his favorite dish of the truck is, Taylor doesn’t hesitate.
“Wings. Medium or mild are my favorite. Always wings.”
Who is Taylor?
A Fayette County native, Taylor has been married for 29 years to his wife, Lisa, and the couple has two daughters. He is the son of longtime South Fayette County residents, Jess and Janelle.
